The Better Living (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This website is primarily an informational space, and we intentionally collect as little personal information as possible.
Information we collect
- Correspondence you send us. When you email us at andrea@thebetterliving.org, we receive your email address, your name if you provide it, and the contents of your message.
- Basic technical and usage information. Like most websites, our hosting provider and analytics may automatically collect standard technical data such as browser type, device, approximate region, and how pages are used, for security and to improve the site.
We do not require you to create an account, and this site does not sell products or process payments online.
How we use your information
- To read and respond to your enquiry, and to arrange and continue any correspondence you begin with us.
- To understand how the site is used and to maintain its security, integrity, and performance.
We do not use the personal contents of your messages for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it, for example, which pages are viewed and which links are followed. Google Analytics sets cookies and may process technical data such as your device, browser, and an approximate location derived from your IP address, in order to produce aggregate statistics about site usage. We use this only to understand and improve the site, never to identify you personally. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings at any time, and you may opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s opt-out browser add-on. To learn how Google handles data, see the Google Privacy Policy.
Confidentiality of what you share
We understand that the messages people send us can be deeply personal. We treat your correspondence as private and share it only where it is necessary to respond to you, or where we are required to by law. Please remember that no method of transmitting information over the internet is completely secure; email in particular is not a fully confidential medium.
Sharing and third parties
We may rely on trusted service providers, for example, an email provider, a website host, and Google Analytics, who process data on our behalf so that we can operate. These providers are permitted to use your information only to provide their services to us. We do not otherwise share your personal information, except where required by law.
Data retention
We keep correspondence only for as long as needed to support our communication with you and for legitimate record-keeping, after which it is deleted. You may ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain uses of it. To exercise any of these, simply write to us at andrea@thebetterliving.org and we will respond.
Children
This website and our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of eighteen.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised date above.
